✦ Hi there!

I didn't always know software would become a passion of mine. Looking back, I think it started when I was a kid with my first Nintendo DS. I was fascinated by how something so small could create entire worlds. At the time, I had no idea just how deep technology really went.

Years later, when I worked at Hulu, that curiosity grew into something more. I was a team lead in customer support, but I had the chance to work closely with the engineers and see how the product was built. Watching them solve problems and bring ideas to life was inspiring. That experience is what pushed me to pursue this path, and I'm excited to see where it goes!

More than anything, I'm someone who just loves technology. I believe it should be accessible, useful, and fun. Tech has helped me in countless ways, and I want to build things that do the same for others. If I can create something that helps people, that's more than enough for me.

My Story

Compared to most successful software engineers, I don't have a hundred LeetCode streaks, a list of hackathons, or even a perfectly curated LinkedIn. But I am passionate about what I do. I am a hardworker. I'm the first-generation daughter of immigrants. My family is from Nogales, and I am the first in my family to attend university!

📍 Nogales, Sinaloa, México

I am my mother's second daughter and the first of her children to go to college. I've learned early on that I have to work harder than most to get where I want to go. For myself and for my family. And that's okay. I've never needed it to be easy, just possible.

Right now, I have a full-time job at the Arizona Department of Revenue, I'm a full-time student pursuing my B.S. in Software Engineering at WGU, and I run my own business. I help support my family. I don't say this for sympathy, I say it because it's context. I may not be 100% immersed in engineering the way some people are, but I have the passion, the drive, and the real-world experience that can't be taught in a classroom or measured by a LeetCode score.

I build things I care about. I solve real problems. I show up every single day.

What I Do

I enjoy the full lifecycle of building software from the planning phase all the way through deployment. I love mapping out ideas, structuring tasks, and thinking through the bigger picture, but I equally love the hands-on part of actually writing the code and watching something come to life. I'm still growing and figuring out exactly where I fit in this field, and I think that's a good thing. For now, my focus is on deepening my understanding of software, systems, and application design.

My process usually starts on paper, brainstorming freely before anything. From there, I move into Figma, slowly shaping those rough ideas into real designs. I wireframe and prototype before writing a single line of code, always thinking through the user experience first. Once the vision is clear, I bring it to life through development.

Most of my experience so far is in web development, but I'm actively working toward mobile. One of my upcoming goals is building an iOS and Android app for GG Tax Services, making tax filing even more accessible.

Beyond the Code

I'm the owner & founder of GG Tax Services, LLC, a tax preparation business I started because I saw a real problem: taxes are complicated, confusing, and expensive to navigate. My work at the Arizona Department of Revenue showed me firsthand how difficult the tax world is for everyday people.

My mission is simple: make tax filing and tax information user-friendly and accessible to everyone. You shouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for a service that's already painful enough. I built the website myself, starting from wireframes in Figma, and I'm working on a mobile app for iOS and Android to take it even further.

Running a business has taught me just as much as any coding project: client communication, real deadlines, and the weight of getting details right when it actually matters to someone's life.

Looking Forward

I find AI and machine learning fascinating and hope to integrate these technologies into future projects, especially within the finance space, where smart tools could make a real difference for people who feel lost in the system.

When I'm not working, I enjoy video games. I am a big Minecraft, sims4 and Fortnite fan. I love hikes, exploring nature, and seeing beautiful scenery. I also paint as a hobby, mostly landscapes.

Staying curious and putting what you love first is not only what builds great developers but also, great people.
